Longland

Longland is a Greek Revival residence in Buckingham Township consisting of two to three stories with five bays on each side. The building features stuccoed stone walls and rectangular transom windows, accompanied by several outbuildings including a wagon house and woodshed.

The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999 and includes a stone bank barn dating to 1844. This collection of structures represents rural architectural traditions of the region from the 19th century.

Margaret Mead, a prominent American anthropologist, spent her childhood here when her family owned the property from 1912 to 1926. The place connects to her formative years and early family life.
