McCarren Park

McCarren Park is a large public space with athletic fields, a swimming pool complex, and various outdoor recreational areas for visitors. The grounds include volleyball courts, a playground, walking paths, and spaces designed for community sports activities.

The grounds were established in the early 1900s as a park for the neighborhood and later renamed to honor a local state politician. The swimming pool was constructed in the 1930s as a community project and underwent major renovation decades afterward.

The swimming pool sat unused and closed for many years before being completely restored and reopened to the public. This revival turned it into a renewed center for water activities in the neighborhood.
