Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Military cemetery in Davenport, Iowa.
The 78-acre cemetery contains more than 24,000 graves arranged across rolling hills along Duck Creek, featuring paths and monuments among landscaped grounds.
Established in 1856 by local businessmen, the cemetery was designed by Captain George F. de la Roche, a War of 1812 U.S. Navy veteran.
The cemetery includes a Grand Army of the Republic lot and a dedicated section for children from the Iowa Soldiers' Orphans' Home.
The cemetery office maintains computerized records and operates on weekdays from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, offering assistance with grave locations.
The grounds include a special section called Love of Animals Petland, allowing visitors to inter their pets alongside human burial plots.
