Old Indiana Fun Park, Former amusement park in Thorntown, Indiana, US.
Old Indiana Fun Park was an amusement park in Thorntown that operated with more than 31 rides spanning different types of entertainment. The facility featured roller coasters, family rides like the Paratrooper, and water-based attractions including The Rocket and The Slalom.
The park opened in 1983 as a Renaissance-themed venue and later shifted toward a full amusement park concept. It changed names several times before closing in 1996 as the region's entertainment landscape evolved.
The initial Renaissance Festival featured performers dressed as medieval characters, bringing 16th-century European village life to Indiana residents.
The park sat at the intersection of Interstate 65 and Indiana State Road 47, making it accessible from major routes throughout the region. The layout included distinct areas designed for different age groups and preferences.
After closure in 1996, the site was converted into a working hop farm where hops are grown for beer production. This transformation shows how the property found a completely different purpose after plans to repurpose rides from a defunct theme park never materialized.
