Pace Gallery, Commercial art gallery in Manhattan, United States.
Pace Gallery is a commercial art gallery in Manhattan with two neighboring buildings on West 25th Street, where contemporary and modern works appear in several exhibition rooms. The spaces spread across different floors and offer separate areas for photography, painting and rotating presentations.
The gallery began in 1960 in Boston as a small exhibition space and expanded over the decades into an international institution. It later moved to New York and opened additional locations in other major cities worldwide.
The name comes from the English word for rhythm and speed, reflecting how the gallery presents changing exhibitions throughout the year. Visitors today encounter rotating displays of photography, painting and occasional live events that bring together different artistic forms.
The gallery sits on West 25th Street at numbers 540 and 510, open Tuesday through Friday between 10 in the morning and 6 in the evening with no admission charge. Both locations are close together and can be combined in a single visit.
Since 2019 the gallery organizes a live program that has produced over 100 performances combining different artistic disciplines at multiple locations worldwide. These events bring music, dance and visual art into direct contact with audiences.
