Peacock Beach State Park, State park at Pleasant Pond in Richmond, United States.
Peacock Beach State Park is a recreational area on Pleasant Pond in Richmond featuring a small sandy beach, designated swimming zones, and open grassy areas for outdoor activities. The facility provides picnic tables, restrooms, and parking to serve day-use visitors.
The park began as a public beach and recreation area managed by the State of Maine for the community of Richmond. In 2010, the town of Richmond assumed management responsibilities through a long-term lease agreement with the state.
Local residents participate in maintaining this recreational space through part-time employees who conduct regular maintenance of the facilities.
The park is open seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day when water temperatures are warmest and most suitable for swimming. Arriving early, especially on weekends, helps secure good parking and comfortable spots along the beach.
Prior to 2010, only ten percent of park visitors contributed entrance fees through the collection box system at the gate.
