Port Crescent State Park, State park in Huron County, Michigan, United States.
Port Crescent State Park spans roughly 400 acres along Lake Huron, combining wide sandy beaches with a network of walking paths throughout the property. The land also includes the Pinnebog River delta estuary and offers both waterfront and elevated camping locations.
This place was established in 1959 as a way to protect the region's natural habitats for the future. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has managed it from the start to ensure it remains a conservation area.
The site functions as a learning ground where school groups and families come to observe native plants and wildlife in their natural setting. People find themselves drawn here across all seasons to spend time outdoors and experience the quietness of the shoreline.
Entry requires a valid Recreation Passport, which visitors can obtain at entrances or online before arriving. The facilities available change depending on the season, so checking ahead helps you plan what to bring and what to expect.
A section of the park is designated as a Dark Sky Preserve where artificial light is kept to a minimum. A dedicated viewing platform offers exceptional conditions for watching stars without the glow that normally comes from developed areas.
