Pizzitola Sports Center, Multi-purpose sports facility in Providence, Rhode Island, US
The Pizzitola Sports Center stands at 233 Hope Street with four tennis courts beneath a Teflon-coated fiberglass roof and five squash courts in the Kate Brodsky Memorial Pavilion.
Opening in February 1989, the center replaced Marvel Gymnasium following a $7.6 million construction project designed by the Eggers Group of New York City.
The building houses training facilities and competition spaces for Brown University's basketball, volleyball, wrestling, gymnastics, and squash programs.
The center accommodates 2,800 spectators and features recently modernized strength conditioning areas, transformed into locker rooms for men's and women's lacrosse teams.
The lobby contains a dedication to John Heisman, while the main facility received a $2 million contribution from the Pizzitola family in memory of their son.
