Robert Morris University is a private college in the Moon Township area of Pennsylvania, offering bachelor's and master's programs through four academic schools. The average class size is 21 students.
The institution began in 1921 as Pittsburgh School of Accountancy and expanded its offerings from pure bookkeeping to additional programs. In 2002 it officially gained university status.
The campus bears the name of a financier from the American Revolution era and now houses a medical center alongside a separate sports facility on an island. Students choose among over 160 organizations and participate in theater productions as well as musical performances.
The UPMC Events Center serves as the central athletic facility while Clearview Arena at the RMU Island Sports Center offers space for hockey programs. Class sizes remain manageable and encourage direct exchange with instructors.
In 2022 the institution received an 18 million dollar donation from the S. Kent Rockwell Foundation. This grant led to the creation of a dedicated business school bearing the donor's name.
