Scar Ridge

Scar Ridge is a mountain summit in the White Mountains reaching about 3,774 feet in elevation, characterized by dense forests and rocky slopes throughout its expanse. The terrain becomes increasingly rugged as you climb higher toward the peak.

The mountain was first documented during early exploration of the White Mountains region and has since remained part of local hiking records. Its prominence grew as more people sought to climb New Hampshire's lesser-known summits.

Local hiking communities maintain records of summit achievements in a canister placed at the mountain peak for documentation purposes.

Start your hike from Loon Mountain Ski Resort parking area and plan your route carefully before heading out. Wear sturdy hiking boots and bring navigation tools, as the terrain offers no marked trails to follow.

Reaching the peak requires bushwhacking through unmaintained territory with no official trails to guide you. Visitors have left a summit register in a canister to record their visits to this isolated destination.
