Snow Creek, Ski resort in Weston, United States.
Snow Creek is a ski resort in Weston, Missouri, set on bluffs that overlook the Missouri River, with twelve trails for different skill levels. The resort depends on snowmaking to keep its slopes in good condition throughout the winter season.
Snow Creek opened in 1986 as the second project developed by Peak Resorts. In 2019, Vail Resorts acquired it, bringing it under one of the largest ski resort operators in the country.
Snow Creek draws families and winter visitors from the Kansas City region who come to ski, snowboard, or tube down the slopes. For many of them, it is the closest place where they can experience winter sports without traveling far.
The resort is close to Weston and about an hour's drive from Kansas City, making it easy to reach by car. Arriving early on busy days helps avoid crowded parking and long waits at the lifts.
A tornado hit the resort directly in May 2003 but caused almost no damage and no injuries. Long-time visitors still bring up the story, and it has become one of those small local memories tied to the place.
