Stone Hall, University building at Cornell University in Ithaca, United States.
Stone Hall was a university building at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. It was constructed between 1905 and 1906 as part of the New York State College of Agriculture and featured stone masonry construction.
The building was erected in the early 1900s as part of the agricultural college campus. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, but was completely demolished in 1986.
The building mixed Classical Revival, Beaux-Arts, and Renaissance design elements. This architectural combination was typical for campus structures built in the early 1900s.
The building no longer exists after being demolished in 1986. Visitors can only explore its history today through campus records and documentation.
Legal disputes over its preservation established that state college buildings are not subject to local historic protection laws. This decision had implications for other universities across New York.
