Stuart Richardson House

The Stuart Richardson House is a residential building in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, characterized by fourteen floor-to-ceiling French doors leading to balconies. The structure seamlessly connects interior and exterior spaces through these openings and includes a heated swimming pool.

Frank Lloyd Wright designed this house in 1941 for actuary Stuart Richardson, but construction was delayed by wartime restrictions. The building was finally completed in 1951 after years of waiting for available materials and labor.

The house was recognized in 2010 by the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy for maintaining the architectural integrity of the original design. This recognition reflects how seriously the owners take preserving the architect's vision.
