Orange Park, County park in Orange, United States.
Monte Irvin Orange Park is a 47.5-acre green space located at the intersection of Center Street and South Harrison Street in Essex County. The facility includes multiple sports fields such as soccer and football areas, basketball courts, and softball diamonds arranged throughout the grounds.
Frederick W. Kelsey established the Essex County Park System in 1894, which led to the creation of this facility. It opened to the public in 1900 and has served the community for more than a century.
The park serves as a gathering place where residents of all ages come to play sports and stay active. You will see soccer teams, basketball players, and families using the various courts and fields throughout the day.
A walking trail of roughly 2.2 miles winds through the park with minimal elevation gain, making it accessible for most visitors. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially during warmer months.
The facility underwent significant improvements in 2009, including the installation of modern artificial turf fields backed by the U.S. Soccer Foundation. This investment transformed the sports areas and elevated it to a regional sports center.
