The Stahlman

The Stahlman is an office building with 12 floors in Beaux-Arts style located in downtown Nashville. The structure displays classical architectural elements, original mahogany doors, and high ceilings throughout its interior.

The building was commissioned in 1907 by Major Edward Bushrod Stahlman and designed by architect J.E.R. Carpenter. The Fourth National Bank originally occupied the ground floor with its vault.

The building displays early 20th-century architectural choices with Tennessee marble and mosaic tile floors that remain visible today. These materials and craft details reflect the standards of the era for important business structures.

The building sits on Union Street in Nashville's historic downtown area and offers modern office spaces. Multiple parking facilities are available nearby throughout the downtown district.

Since 1967, large neon letters displaying the radio station WKDF callsign have been mounted on the rooftop. These bright letters have become a distinctive addition to the building's historic profile.
