The Jacobean-style mansion features 50 rooms across 28,000 square feet, with brick exterior walls trimmed in brownstone and 17 decorative fireplaces throughout.
Built in 1893 for Sarah Morgan, sister of financier J.P. Morgan, the mansion became a symbol of wealth during the American Gilded Age period.
The museum presents exhibitions and educational programs about American society changes during the late 19th century industrial revolution period.
The mansion opens daily from 10 AM to 4 PM, with guided tours available that showcase both restored rooms and ongoing preservation work.
The property served as the exterior filming location for St. Cloud's Orphanage in the 1999 motion picture The Cider House Rules.
