West Side Community Garden

West Side Community Garden is a planted lot between 89th and 90th Streets featuring vegetable beds, flower sections, and an open-air amphitheater. The space accommodates gardening activities, art displays, and performances for visitors.

In 1975 residents reclaimed an abandoned lot filled with discarded cars and transformed it into a garden. The space gained permanent status as an official community project through local authorities in 1985.

The garden serves as a neighborhood gathering place where residents connect through shared activities and seasonal celebrations. Theater productions and musical performances bring people together regularly, creating a social hub for the community.
