Whitestone Point Light, Navigation lighthouse in Whitestone, Queens, US.
The Whitestone Point Light stands 20 feet tall with a square pyramidal frame tower built on piers along the East River in New York.
The lighthouse, first lit in 1889, underwent a major modification in 1915 when its design changed to feature the current black skeleton tower structure.
Multiple keepers maintained the lighthouse through generations, including M. O'Connor, Catherine O'Connor, Thomas P. Oddy, and Lawrence D. Carroll from 1913 to 1939.
The lighthouse emits a fixed white light with a three nautical mile range and includes a mechanical bell that strikes every 30 seconds during low visibility.
A protective sea wall constructed in 1903 shields the lighthouse tower from rough waters, ensuring continuous operation in maritime navigation.
