Poppenhusen Institute, Victorian educational institute in College Point, New York, United States.

The Poppenhusen Institute rises five stories tall at 114-04 14th Road, featuring Victorian architectural elements with stern proportions and detailed woodwork.

German immigrant Conrad Poppenhusen established this institute in 1868 with a donation of 100,000 dollars to create an educational center for the local community.

The building served multiple functions, including a courthouse, bank, library, and venue for German singing societies throughout the late nineteenth century.

The institute currently offers evening classes for approximately 400 students annually, maintaining its educational mission through various programs and cultural activities.
