Wildwood Park

Wildwood Park is an urban park spanning 229 acres of natural habitat in Harrisburg. It features a large lake, wetlands, woodlands, and meadows connected by miles of walking trails.

The park was founded in 1901 during the City Beautiful movement on wetland terrain. The lake was created in 1908 by damming Paxton Creek.

The nature center presents exhibits about local ecosystems and welcomes visitors to learn about the region's wildlife and habitats. School groups and families regularly use these spaces to connect with the natural world.

The park is accessible daily from sunrise to sunset with paved paths and picnic areas throughout. Parking is available at multiple locations across the grounds.

A boardwalk stretches across the wetlands, giving visitors direct access to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. This walkway makes it possible to experience areas normally too wet to explore safely.
