Wing Hall, National Register listed university building on Cornell campus in Ithaca, United States.
Wing Hall is a three-story building on the Cornell campus designed in the Classical Revival style. The main entrance is marked by a columned portico with Ionic capitals and the facade features detailed pilasters throughout.
The building was constructed between 1912 and 1914 by the architectural firm Green & Wicks. Its construction was funded by appropriations from the State of New York.
The building shows how agricultural education was taught at American universities in the early 1900s. Visitors can see how spaces were specifically designed for hands-on learning with animals.
The building is located about half a mile east of Cornell's original campus buildings and is easily accessible on foot. Since it remains an active educational facility, visitors should be respectful and avoid disrupting ongoing activities.
The auditorium was specially designed with access for livestock to enable live demonstrations during lessons. This feature shows how hands-on early agricultural education could be.
