Hollis Street Theater, Performing arts center and theater in downtown Boston, United States.

Hollis Street Theater was a theater building in downtown Boston with seating for around 1,600 spectators. Its interior design by Zachariah Mode provided clear sightlines to performances for all patrons.

The building was established in 1885 on the site of a former church. It remained active for about 50 years before demolition in 1935.

The theater opened with a Gilbert and Sullivan production and later hosted performances by renowned stage artists like Sarah Bernhardt. These early shows helped establish the venue as a destination for quality entertainment.

The venue was located in downtown Boston and served as both a live performance space and a movie theater. Visitors could experience different types of entertainment at this location.

Opening night drew such large crowds that some attendees had to wait for seats after the show began. This showed how much the city wanted quality entertainment at the venue.
