Sylvan Hills Country Club Golf Course

Sylvan Hills Country Club Golf Course is a historic golf facility occupying roughly 120 acres at the intersection of Club and Country Club Roads in Sherwood. The course features traditional layout with expansive greens and fairways spread across the flat terrain characteristic of the area.

The golf course was designed by Justin Matthews in 1927 and became one of the first such facilities in the developing community. It was renamed North Hills Country Club in 1956 and continued operating under that name until its closure in 2007.

This golf course served as a social gathering place for the area's established families and shaped the leisure culture of Sherwood for generations. Its role in community life is evident from the many tournaments and events that took place on its grounds.

The site is easily accessible by road with ample parking available for visitors. Weather conditions are most favorable during cooler months when the course experiences lighter use.

The site is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places for its significance in Arkansas architectural and transportation history. This designation preserves the memory of the region's golfing past even as changing economic realities led to the course's eventual closure.
