New Windsor Cantonment State Historic Site, Revolutionary War military site in New Windsor, New York, United States.

The site contains reconstructed log huts, military buildings, and a visitor center spread across 167 acres of historical grounds along Route 300.

During 1782-1783, General George Washington stationed 7,000 Continental Army troops at this location, establishing their final winter encampment of the Revolutionary War.

The Temple building served as both a chapel and meeting place where Washington delivered his speech addressing the Newburgh Conspiracy among military officers.

From April through October, visitors can watch military demonstrations, blacksmithing presentations, and explore exhibits about Revolutionary War life Wednesday through Sunday.

The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor stands within the grounds, marking the location where General Washington first awarded the Badge of Military Merit.
