Hope House

Hope House is a seven-part brick mansion located near Tunis Mill in Easton, Maryland. The structure connects a central Federal section with hyphens and wings that extend across the property.

The original Federal section was built around 1800 as a core residential structure for the area. In the early 1900s, substantial renovations reshaped the building into the form it holds today.

The property has deep roots with the Tilghman and Lloyd families, whose influence shaped its character over generations. These family connections remain an important part of how people understand the place today.

The mansion sits northeast of Voit Road, roughly 1.3 kilometers northwest of the bridge at Tunis Mill in Talbot County. Visitors reach it via rural roads, so expect a quiet, isolated setting.

A major remodeling in 1907 gave the building its current multi-component form with connected sections. This modernization was remarkably ambitious for a rural residence of that era.
