Academy Art Museum

The Academy Art Museum occupies a three-story building on South Street, featuring exhibition spaces, an auditorium, and a dedicated dance studio for artistic activities.

Founded in 1958 by six local residents, the museum moved to its current location in 1960, taking over a structure that served as Easton's first chartered school in 1820.

The permanent collection contains works by American artists Gene Davis and Anne Truitt, while temporary exhibitions showcase both regional and national artistic talents.

The museum provides free admission daily and organizes multiple workshops covering drawing, painting, photography, pottery, and sculpture for various skill levels.

Through collaborations with major art institutions, the museum brings exceptional exhibitions to Maryland's Eastern Shore, enriching the regional cultural landscape.
