Old Fort Park and Golf Course, Public park and golf complex in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Old Fort Park and Golf Course is a public recreation area in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, set along the Stones River. It includes tennis courts, baseball fields, playgrounds, an 18-hole golf course, and a driving range with a clubhouse.
During the Civil War, Union forces built a fortification here in 1863 under General James Morton. Some of those original earthworks have survived and can still be seen within the park today.
The grounds serve as a meeting point for golfers and families who gather to enjoy sports and outdoor recreation together. Local tournaments and competitions held here connect the regional golfing community.
The park is easy to reach by car and has plenty of parking near the different activity areas. Golf equipment and carts are available to rent on site, so you do not need to bring your own gear.
The park connects to the city's Greenway system through two separate trailheads, giving walkers and cyclists direct access to a wider network of outdoor paths. A large playground on the grounds was fully rebuilt with modern synthetic materials and draws families from across the area.
