Beach Station consists of six buildings and one site, including two residences, a post office, a railway depot, and railroad structures from 1890.
The district emerged around the Brighthope Mining Company line, which transported coal between Clover Hill mines and Chester Station during the late 19th century.
The railroad complex illustrates the development of transportation infrastructure that connected rural communities in Virginia during the industrial period.
Located at 11410 and 11400 Beach Road, the district encompasses 0.8 acres of land containing preserved 19th-century railroad architecture.
The post office within Beach Station remains the sole surviving 19th-century postal facility in Chesterfield County.
