Sonner Hall, Colonial Revival educational building in Front Royal, United States

Sonner Hall is a three-story brick building that sits prominently on the Randolph-Macon Academy campus with classical design details throughout. The main facade features four Ionic columns supporting a pediment, while the roofline is distinguished by a copper dome topped with a decorative lantern.

The building was constructed in 1927 as a replacement for an earlier structure from 1892 that had served the academy's growing needs. A significant fire in 1995 damaged the upper floors, but the hall was restored and continues to function on campus today.

The building is central to Randolph-Macon Academy's campus and reflects how the school presents itself through classical architecture. Visitors experience a space designed to embody educational values through its formal design and grand entrance.

The building is located in the heart of the academy campus in Front Royal and is easily accessible from the main roads. As it remains an active school facility, visitors should be respectful of the educational activities taking place within.

The building's roof features a distinctive ribbed dome decorated with a balustrade, a detail that sets it apart from similar structures throughout Warren County. This architectural element makes it one of the more recognizable landmarks on the academy campus.
