St. Andrew's Church
St. Andrew's Church, Episcopal church complex on South Cherry Street in Richmond, United States.
St. Andrew's Church is a stone church complex with a 115-foot (35 m) corner tower located in Richmond. The site includes separate buildings for school instruction, parish halls, and community activities spread across roughly two acres on South Cherry Street.
The complex was founded in 1901 by Grace Arents and incorporates Gothic Revival architectural elements. The design came from architectural firms A.H. Ellwood and Noland & Baskerville.
The church serves as a community gathering place and operates an attached school offering free education and meals to local children. This connection between worship space and schooling continues to shape family life in the surrounding neighborhood.
The complex spans three addresses on South Cherry Street and is accessible to visitors during weekdays and regular services. Educational and worship programs run throughout the week, so checking specific times before visiting is advisable.
The buildings were constructed with Virginia granite and feature hand-crafted woodwork by Richmond Wood Working Company. This early 1900s craftsmanship by local artisans remains visible throughout the complex today.
