Crabtree Jones House, Federal style residence in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Crabtree Jones House exhibits symmetrical design with classical details, multiple chimneys, and refined architectural elements characteristic of early 1800s construction methods.

Built between 1808 and 1811 by Nathaniel Jones, this plantation home survived Union troops occupation during the Civil War and remained in the Jones family for 150 years.

The residence operated as a stagecoach stop and tavern where travelers, including future President James K. Polk and state governors, found accommodation during their journeys.

The structure underwent relocation in 2014 to 3108 Hillmer Drive in Raleigh, preserving it from demolition while maintaining its National Register of Historic Places status.

The house represents one of the few remaining large plantation homes in Wake County, constructed on elevated ground to prevent flood damage.
