Comcast Technology Center, Skyscraper in Center City, Philadelphia, US
Comcast Technology Center is a skyscraper in Center City Philadelphia that stands 341.7 meters tall across 60 floors and ranks as the second tallest building in the city. The tower is clad in a continuous glass and steel facade that reflects shifting light throughout the day and across different weather conditions.
Construction started in 2014 after the previous building on the site was demolished. The tower was completed in 2017 and opened its office spaces and hotel in phases over the following months.
The building integrates television studios for NBC and Telemundo networks, connecting Philadelphia to national media production and broadcasting.
The building houses office spaces, a hotel occupying floors 48 through 56, and studios in the lower section. A total of 40 elevators connect the different areas and provide access to individual zones throughout the tower.
Four large water tanks holding a combined total of around 125,000 gallons (about 473,000 liters) are installed in the ceiling of the upper floors and function as dampers against wind. This system reduces movement within the building during strong gusts and contributes to comfort for occupants and guests.
