Schloss Sihlberg, Heritage château in District 2, Switzerland.
Schloss Sihlberg is a château on Sihlberg hill in Zürich, constructed from limestone and sandstone with towers, verandas, and ornate facades. The structure encompasses approximately 1,750 square meters of interior space.
The château was built in 1898 for Albert Heinrich Hürlimann when he relocated his brewery to the Enge area. It remained in family hands until Martin Hürlimann's death in 2000.
The interior rooms reflect French early Renaissance and late Gothic styles, with ornate plaster work and painted ceilings throughout the space. These decorative details shape how each room feels and reveals the owner's refined tastes.
The building now functions as an event venue available for corporate gatherings, seminars, and private celebrations. Visitors should inquire about availability and specific conditions for any planned function.
The building integrates multiple architectural styles using Lägern limestone, glazed tiles, and sandstone elements throughout its structure. This material variety creates an unexpected textural contrast in both the exterior and interior.
