Liceo Artistico, Swiss-Italian art school in Zürich, Switzerland

The Liceo Artistico is a specialized art school in Zürich with studios for painting, sculpture, and design alongside modern computer facilities for digital work. The building serves as both a school and villa with recognized cultural value in the region.

The Zürich government decided in 1986 to found the school and chose the Villa "Dem Schönen" at Parkring as its site. The villa, built in two stages for the physician Adolf Friedrich Hommel (corner wing with tower by Friedrich Kühn, 1898–1899; museum wing by Chiodera and Tschudy, 1902–1904), passed to the canton in 1963 and was slated for demolition. After renovation by architect Tilla Theus, the Liceo Artistico opened on 21 August 1989.

The school's bilingual German-Italian teaching is built on immersion, and many teachers are native Italian speakers. Italy sends a set number of Italian teachers to Zürich each year as its contribution to the jointly run institution, so Italian is present in daily lessons rather than only in special events.

The Liceo Artistico is a working public school and cannot be visited as a tourist site; its premises at Parkring are used for lessons. Access is limited to pupils, staff and official events, and admission for pupils requires the central entrance exam plus a separate artistic aptitude assessment.

The school occupies the Villa "Dem Schönen" on Parkring, built in two stages for the physician Adolf Friedrich Hommel: the corner wing with tower and entrances by Friedrich Kühn in 1898/1899, and the museum wing by Chiodera and Tschudy in 1902–1904. The canton acquired the villa in 1963 and planned its demolition before architect Tilla Theus renovated it in 1980–1986.
