Edificio Moneda Bicentenario, Government building in Civic District, Santiago, Chile.
The Edificio Moneda Bicentenario is a modern administrative building with glass panels and minimalist steel framing located at the intersection of Teatinos and Moneda streets. The structure extends across eleven floors and four basement levels and includes a public auditorium.
Construction began in October 2011 on the site of a former mansion and was completed in March 2014. The new building replaced a private residence that once occupied this location in the city center.
The building houses multiple government ministries and opens to the public through exhibitions and educational programs. Visitors can experience cultural events and workshops that reflect the city's commitment to arts and heritage.
The auditorium accommodates around 200 people for public events and gatherings. Visitors can access the grounds during daytime hours, keeping in mind that this is an active government building.
The top two floors feature green roofs that filter air pollutants and manage rainwater collection. This sustainable design helps improve air quality and supports environmental responsibility.
