Basílica Menor Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Chiquinquirá, La Estrella

The Basilica Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Chiquinquirá is a Gothic Revival church in La Estrella with twin towers rising approximately 37 meters (121 feet) high. The structure combines Gothic and Roman architectural elements throughout its design.

The basilica was inaugurated in 1923 following the architectural designs of Martín Rodríguez, who blended Gothic and Roman stylistic approaches. Its founding marked a significant moment in the religious development of the region.

The basilica houses a painted image of the Virgin Mary with a distinctive star positioned between Saint Anthony and the Virgin above the main altar. This representation serves as the focal point for prayer and devotion inside the sanctuary.

The sanctuary is located in La Estrella and can be accessed by way of Calle 81 Sur N.61-16. The site offers good access for visitors wishing to experience the religious site.
