Alt-Hohenschönhausen

Alt-Hohenschönhausen is a residential neighborhood in Lichtenberg featuring apartment buildings and open green areas. The area is shaped by lakes such as Obersee and Orankesee, which bring water and open space to the district.

The area was originally characterized by fields and estates belonging to local nobility before the first permanent settlements appeared in the 13th century. After damage during World War Two, the neighborhood was rebuilt into a large residential district during the 1970s.
