Fallturm Bremen

The Fallturm Bremen is a research facility on the university campus that consists of a 146-meter concrete structure containing a 122-meter drop tube inside. The building was specifically designed to minimize wind vibrations, allowing scientists to conduct precise experiments in near-weightless conditions.

The facility was built between 1988 and 1990 and became an important center for microgravity research at the University of Bremen. Since 2004, the site has used a catapult system to launch test capsules, extending the duration of weightless conditions for longer experimental periods.
