Gymnasium Walsrode

Gymnasium Walsrode is a secondary school for students in grades 5 through 13 in Niedersachsen. The school houses approximately 1400 students and provides a comprehensive curriculum with various academic focuses.

The school was founded in 1925 as Oberrealschule, beginning with six classes and nine teachers at an agricultural school. Shortly after, in 1928, it moved into its own building.

The school offers language programs in English, French, Latin, Russian, and Spanish. Through student exchange partnerships with schools in Hungary, France, the USA, and Poland, an international network of learners develops.

The school has a cafeteria that provides daily meal options, including vegetarian selections for students. It is helpful to visit the campus on a day with regular classes to get a sense of daily school life.

In 2021, students from a politics course took a long bicycle ride to Berlin to raise money for a local medical project. This cycling journey combined political education with community service.
