Rischmannshof Heath Museum

The Rischmannshof Heath Museum is an open-air site with several historic buildings, including a farmhouse with a thatched roof and old workshops. The central courtyard displays how people lived and worked in this region.

The museum was founded in 1912 and preserves a two-story farmhouse from 1798 that was moved here from Hartem. This relocation saved the building from decay and made it the core of the collection.

The farmstead displays furniture and tools that shaped daily life in the heath region. Visitors see how people lived and worked long ago.

The grounds are easy to reach on foot and the paths are fairly level, making it simple to explore the buildings. Visitors should wear appropriate footwear, as the terrain can be uneven and outdoor conditions prevail.

A storage building from 1669 houses the only exhibition on traditional beekeeping in the region. This rare building shows how beekeepers once stored and managed their harvest.
