Romanisches Haus

Romanisches Haus is a stone structure in Bad Kösen with thick walls and tall rooms spread across two floors, showing clear Romanesque architectural features. The building displays robust proportions and rounded arches typical of its period, creating a sense of solid, enduring construction.

The structure was built in the second half of the 12th century as part of the Cistercian Monastery of Pforta's economic operations. It ranks among Central Germany's oldest secular buildings and testifies to the early power of monastic economies in the region.
