Rathaus, Town hall in Kray, Germany.
The two-story Rathaus features a slate-covered tower with a bell-shaped dome and displays an oversized Imperial Eagle relief on its gable front.
Built between 1907 and 1908 under architect Otto Mecke, the Rathaus served as the administrative center for Kray-Leithe until its incorporation into Essen in 1929.
The assembly hall within the Rathaus hosts regular civil marriage ceremonies, municipal meetings, and functions as a gathering space for District Representation VII.
The building currently houses the South-East Police Station, a registry office branch, a community library, a youth welfare office, and legal services for displaced persons.
The Rathaus stands as one of Germany's ten most intact Art Nouveau administrative buildings, preserving original features including stained glass windows and carved wall panels.
