Pauluskirche, Kamen, Neoclassical church in Kamen, Germany.
Pauluskirche is a Neoclassical hall church in Kamen featuring a massive western tower from the 12th century and an interior supported by clad pillars with three galleries. The structure displays the distinctive 5/8 choir form that emerged during the 19th-century reconstruction.
The building was originally dedicated to Saint Severin before undergoing major reconstruction between 1844 and 1849. This renovation transformed it into its current Neoclassical form with modern gallery spaces.
The church is named after the Apostle Paul and serves the local community for worship and religious celebrations. The interior with its galleries and supporting columns creates an open, welcoming space for gatherings.
The interior is easily accessible and offers plenty of space to walk around between the columns and galleries. The best time to visit is on quieter weekdays when fewer services are taking place and you can view the architecture in peace.
The western tower was intentionally built at an angle to better withstand the prevailing wind direction in the region. This unusual construction is now one of the building's most distinctive features.
