Seemannsclub Welcome

Seemannsclub Welcome is a refuge for seafarers in Bremerhaven with comfortable seating areas, Wi-Fi, and multiple charging stations for electronic devices. The building also features a meditation room and musical instruments such as a piano and guitars for visitors.

The facility was founded in 2002 and developed into an Evangelical Lutheran institution serving international seafarers in the North Sea port. It emerged from the need to provide crews with support and a place to rest during their time in Germany.

The facility reflects the international community that gathers here, with seafarers from different countries using the meditation room, musical instruments, and multilingual library. These spaces allow visitors to express their own traditions and connect with others.

The center is located in a central spot and is easily reached via shuttle buses from various harbor points, with bicycle rentals also available. Visitors should come during opening hours and expect a quiet, fairly functional environment.

Local knitting groups regularly donate handmade winter hats, scarves, and gloves that are distributed to seafarers facing cold conditions. These warming gifts show how the community supports the concerns of harbor visitors.
