Schloss Adelmannsfelden

Schloss Adelmannsfelden is a fortified aristocratic residence with an L-shaped layout spanning three floors. The walls range from 1.5 to 2.2 meters in thickness, and a square keep of roughly 11 meters defines the structure.

The castle's construction started around 1136 as a medieval fortification. The 18th century brought major rebuilding that transformed the fortress from a military stronghold into a residential manor.

The château displays a mix of Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles that are visible in its walls and structural elements. These different building phases become apparent as visitors walk through the interior spaces.

The château functions as a private residence of the Adelmann family and requires advance permission to visit. Guests must respect the family's guidelines when exploring the property.

The foundations of a medieval free-standing tower from the original fortification remain visible in the courtyard today. This remnant offers a rare glimpse into the earlier defensive layout of the site.
