Schlosspark Buckow, Palace park and architectural heritage monument in Buckow, Germany
Schlosspark Buckow is a landscaped park covering roughly five hectares with curved pathways, water features, and ponds throughout the grounds. The space is planted with approximately 30 native tree species distributed across the terrain.
The site originated from the 1680 Flemming Palace estate but was transformed into an English-style garden during the 1700s. This redesign reflects changing tastes in landscape gardening during that period.
The park hosts summer concerts and the annual Rose Days festival, which draw visitors together for seasonal celebrations and outdoor performances. These events have become important gathering points for the local community.
The park offers several areas for visitors, including sunbathing spaces, a bocce court, a children's playground, and water fountains for drinking. These facilities allow visitors to organize their time based on their interests.
An abandoned ice house from 1890 still stands in the northwestern section and represents the last remnant of the former palace complex. This small structure is a reminder of the era when ice was harvested and stored for summer use.
