Buckower Kleinbahn, Heritage railway in Buckow, Germany
The 5-kilometer railway line connects Buckow and Müncheberg stations through forested landscapes in Brandenburg, featuring regular heritage train services.
Established in 1897 as a narrow-gauge steam railway, the line underwent conversion to standard gauge and electrification in 1930 to accommodate increasing tourist traffic.
The railway museum at Buckow station displays historical locomotives, carriages, and technical equipment dating from 1920 to 1986, documenting regional railway development.
Visitors can experience heritage train rides between April and October on weekends, with adult tickets costing 5 euros and children tickets 2.50 euros.
The railway operates as an isolated electrical system, independent from Germany's main railway power grid, using its dedicated power conversion station.
