The stadium is a football arena with natural grass and can hold about 10,000 spectators total. It features seating and standing areas along with the necessary facilities for matches and events.
Zwickau's city government decided in 2012 to build a new stadium because upgrading the older Westsachsenstadion would have been too costly. The project came about from the need to provide a more modern facility for local football.
FSV Zwickau plays its home matches here and attracts local supporters who gather to watch games in the NOFV-Regionalliga Nordost division. The fans create energy and excitement on matchdays, making it an important meeting place for the club's followers.
The stadium is located in the Eckersbach district and is easy to reach. Visitors should note that all payments on-site are electronic only.
The playing field has an underground heating system that allows it to be used year-round, even during cold winters. This technology keeps the grass in good condition regardless of weather conditions.
