The church structure contains three altars within a simple hall design, featuring white walls complemented by ornate Rococo plasterwork throughout the interior.
Between 1757 and 1759, architect Joseph Schmuzer designed the church, and after his death, Thassilo Zöpf completed the construction with stucco decorations.
Johann Baptist Baader created a 160-square-meter ceiling fresco depicting scenes from John the Baptist's life against a background of Neapolitan-inspired architecture.
