Feringasee, Recreational lake near Unterföhring, Germany
The Feringasee is a recreational lake near Unterföhring with about 32 hectares of water surface and a maximum depth of seven meters in its northern section. Grassy areas surround the water, and different bathing zones serve various uses throughout the site.
The lake formed in the 1970s from groundwater accumulation and became a major recreational destination for the area. Its creation was linked to the urban growth of Unterföhring.
The lake welcomes different bathing practices, including dedicated naturist sections alongside conventional swimming areas. This mix shows how the place accommodates various preferences and lifestyles of those who come here.
The lake is easily reached by the S8 train to Unterföhring station, followed by a roughly ten-minute walk to the water. Around 2500 parking spaces are available on the eastern side if you prefer to drive.
The Wasserwacht Unterföhring, a volunteer lifeguard service, has watched over the lake since 1975. These helpers are mainly present on weekends and holidays from May through September.
